Line Cards


Cisco GSR Line Cards can be classified by Engine type. This refers to how they connect to the fabric in the chassis. Each engine type has a set bandwidth limit.


  • Engine 0 - 622Mbps - 200Kpps to 440Kpps
  • Engine 0 Plus - 622Mbps - 200Kpps to 440Kpps
  • Engine 1 - 622Mbps or 2.5Gbps - 130Kpps to 720Kpps

  • Engine 0 - BMA
  • Engine 1 - Salsa/BMA48
  • Engine 2 - PSA/TBM/RBM
  • Engine 3 (ISE) - Alpha/Conga/Radar
  • Engine 4 - RX/MCC/TX
  • Engine 4+ - RX+/MCC/TX+
  • Engine 5 - Wahoo/Piranha/Stingray
  • Engine 6 - Hermes/Ares/Hera
