Cisco GSR Line Cards can be classified by Engine type. This refers to how they connect to the fabric in the chassis. Each engine type has a set bandwidth limit.
- Engine 0 - 622Mbps - 200Kpps to 440Kpps
- Engine 0 Plus - 622Mbps - 200Kpps to 440Kpps
- Engine 1 - 622Mbps or 2.5Gbps - 130Kpps to 720Kpps
- Engine 2 - 2.5Gbps - 1.5Mpps to 4Mpps
- Engine 3 - 2.5Gbps - 3Mpps to 4Mpps
- Engine 4 - 10Gbps
- Engine 4 Plus - 10Gbps - 11Mpps to 25Mpps
- Engine 5 - 10Gbps - 16Mpps
- Engine 6 - 40Gbps - 31Mpps to 50Mpps
